Mick Mulvaney's stumble on impeachment messaging has his supporters turning fire on White House Counsel Pat Cipollone, who sources say is viewed within the White House as having a "shelter-in-place bunker mentality" that undermines effective pushback against Democrats.
"There's an open feud between Pat and those who want to fight and defend the president in White House, and Mick is the face of it," a White House official told the Washington Examiner, defending the acting chief of staff.
Cipollone "is not the person you want to lead a political fight. He's a civil attorney without a political bone in his body," the official said.

When I listened to Mulvaney’s Q&A, my impression then was that he explained that President’s horse trade with foreign aide. Carrot/stick approach. Sometimes you just have to rip the bandaide off and let the media harrumph about it. Every single time the reporter tried to get him to say or affirm that the call had a quid pro quo, Mulvaney said it was not. In the call, foreign aide was not even mentioned. The one mention of military armaments was for weapons Ukraine had bought and wanted to buy more.
I think I agree with Mulvaney. These demedia idiots act like they dont understand English, so why not take it to them? The demedia will react the same no matter what Trump and his people do or say.
If we are giving a country $400,000,000 in military aid, there damn well better be strings attached. Call it quid pro quo or not, we are being soaked as tax payers.
It is VERY clean in the transcript of the call that Trump did not ask for ‘dirt’ for 2020.
He needs to declassify the corruption of the democrats, but he can’t because so many republicans are just as corrupt.
Timing is everything
“These demedia idiots act like they dont understand English,”
I think it was Rush who said Mulvaney was interacting with the MSM, assuming they had an average level of intelligence and knowledge. He was wrong. They’re ignorant, and they like it that way.
I had posted earlier about a press conference given by a NASA hotshot to the media back in NASA’s heyday. In his opening speech he gave a synopsis, saying that there was much “redundancy” built in to the system for safety reasons.
Immediately after, a woman reporter asked, “Do you have any backup measures in case of an emergency?”
They’re idiots, and don’t understand basic English.
They had better keep Mulvaney right where he is, period. For fairness sake and not to put any blood in the water
Scott Adams explained this in great detail, saying that EVERY call between the President and a foreign leader is, either directly or indirectly, quid pro quo for both sides, or there would be no reason to make the call. And this would be true for Obama, Bush, Clinton, and so on.
