President Trump announced Saturday night that his administration will no longer consider his personal resort in Doral, Fla., to host the 2020 G-7 summit, and suggested he might consider Camp David presidential retreat in Maryland instead.
“Based on both Media & Democrat Crazed and Irrational Hostility, we will no longer consider Trump National Doral, Miami, as the Host Site for the G-7 in 2020,” the president tweeted. “We will begin the search for another site, including the possibility of Camp David, immediately. Thank you!”

My guess is POTUS didn’t care what the Dems/media would say but other G-7 countries refused to go to Doral.

I believe the Prez was not looking for financial. He gives entire paycheck away and was going to charge ‘cost’ for staying at the Doral. However he did get a lot of publicity for the Doral from baiting the Rats.

She might dislike Trump but turn down a super-nice stay at Doral and miss the G-7? No way.
There is no G-7 if the other countries don’t go.
I think its too bad, but from the start it was an argument that Trump did not have to start; a fight he did not have to pick, and it was clear beforehand it would produce a fight.

Does Camp David have enough accommodations for delegations from 7 countries to stay there? Inconveniencing the press is one thing but inconveniencing the delegations is another.

There are about a dozen cabins. Looks really pretty. Sometimes much can be accomplished in a more relaxed setting
