Late yesterday just before the midnight deadline stipulated by 'wrecker' MPs a total of three letters were due to be sent from the Government to Donald Tusk, the president of the European Council.
The first was the letter demanded by the Benn Act, which asks the EU to delay Brexit beyond the October 31 deadline but not signed by Boris Johnson using the exact wording specified in the legislation.
The second was a covering letter, written by Sir Tim Barrow, the UK's Permanent Representative in Brussels, which made clear that the first letter was from Parliament, not the Government.
And the third was a letter from Mr Johnson, which was also sent to the leaders of the other 27 EU nations, in which he disavowed the first letter by making clear that he does not want any delay to Brexit.
In it, the PM said any further hold-up would be 'deeply corrosive', and would 'damage the interests of the UK and our EU partners'.
He said UK would continue to ratify the deal and urged Brussels to do the same.

Johnson may fail. But if he does, he's going down fighting for his country.

It will be ugly for the other parties when the election comes up. Bet on it!
Sounds like the ball is back in the EUs court. If they say No Extension Corbyn and his crowd will be blamed for the no agreement Brexit
Very smart move - bet the Remoaners never saw that coming ...
Just as the European Swamp did with Ireland a few years back...Irish voters,of course, having had the audacity to vote down an EU Treaty...Merkel's puppets will delay things so long that there's a second referendum held. During *that* campaign her puppets in Britain will conduct a campaign worthy of Mao's Red Guards circa 1966.

If I had voted for Brexit I would eviscerate Remainers at the ballot box. I can only suppose the those British that were on the fence have now mostly broken for Brexit. The U.K. will leave the E.U. now or right after the next election.

Agree 100%!
Parliament keeps passing Laws to stop Boris which is crazy and means they’ll never get out
Well Farage shouldn’t have resigned when they voted for BREXIT ,he thought Parliament was Honest but I think that makes him stupid
Johnson gave the Remoaners the middle finger...up yours!
They can vote no confidence in him, which they dont want. They wont win fresh elections.
He will get his Brexit, come hell or high water.
No,the Brits don’t give the middle finger...they give a mirror image of the “V for Victory” sign. That’s how you say “up yours” in Britain.
If the EU says no - therell be a no deal Brexit unless Parliament approves the deal on offer.
They have ten days to ratify it and now that Johnson made an end run around his opponents, their only alternative is to nullify Brexit.
Good luck with contravening the will of the voters. Parliament will be dragged kicking and screaming into the post-EU future.
Trying to postpone the decision by resetting the clock isnt a responsible move.
Johnson made his feelings on the matter clear.
I am not so sure. Johnson does not want a clean break. And Farage and the DUP have made clear they will not support the deal. If there is an election, Brexit and Conservatives will split vote in Labour areas (north) and Labour may yet get in power. If Corbyn or Corbyn + LibDem is the govt, there will be NO Brexit.
Best thing for Johnson is to prepare for an election with Brexit Party as partners. Brexit will prevail in the North, and Conservatives the South? And then they can negotiate trade deals out of EU. But Johnson will not deal with Brexit, which tells me he may not even want to win the election.
But no extension would be in the interests of Freedom-voting Brits, so naturally the EW will make an extension.
If the EU grants an extension then IMHO it should be very apparent to the UK fencesitters that they are being played by EU/UK deep staters. Those fencesitters are likely to be sick of yet another delay, so I would anticipate that most of them would side with the hard Brexiteers in any upcoming election. Boris should agitate for an immediate election and catch the support of upset fencesitters while providing a diversion from the ticking clock, all the while reiterating his derision for the EU to have meddled yet again with UK internal affairs for their own (EU’s own) selfish interests, in contrast to their ostensible support for national democracy. Once Boris and Brexit win the election, imho, a path to a clean, hard brexit still seems possible. (Of course, I might be missing something...)
> Johnson does not want a clean break.
Are you certain about this? How much of Saturday at Commons was, in actuality, kabuki?
> But no extension would be in the interests of Freedom-voting Brits, so naturally the EW will make an extension.
That would be true if the deep state has an iron grip political control over all EU states. So, whether or not the EU grants an extension might be a litmus test of how much control over national governments the EU actually has, at least on the Continent.
Farage is a guy who never learned this lesson: the enemy of good is better.
there is a laundry list of problems in the boris agreement that was posted in a recent related thread. no doubt farage is taking the purist position...
