In his luggage was the trefoil flag of a neo-Nazi hate group. On his phone, a photo of two people posing at the site of the Auschwitz death camp. ... The officials did not charge Mr. Cole with any crimes that day...
Why would they? Is merely having a flag, or a picture, even an offensive picture a crime? (other than say child porn, right?)
...authorities in Seattle moved to seize a cache of weapons from Mr. Cole, using a state law intended to prevent gun violence.
And there you have it, a creative (and broadening) interpretation of "red flag" laws. They can apparently be used to disarm anyone those in power disagree with. Don't like someone? Then you must feel "threatened" by them so wave the magic red-flag wand and take away their rights. What rights will be summarily removed next?
Next?
1A is already under attack.
Just recently got confirmation that the 4th is dead as the Fed. Gov. (ATF) claims authority to search email without warrant or probable cause.
Probably easier to say which items of the BOR are NOT under threat.
So far the 3A seems pretty secure?
