Not according to that Prager University video I linked. He never dragged it out. Actually, if anything, he was responsible for it being a decisive victory (or what would have been a decisive victory... had the anti-war left not exploited Watergate to get a supermajority and cut off any and all funding to the South Vietnamese). Johnson was the one who made it into a pointless quagmire due to being fearful of incurring Chinese and/or Soviet responses that might escalate into a nuclear war.
