There is a difference between love and like. One can love a person while also detesting much about them.

For me it is much easier to love someone if I have good reason to like them.

I will save my love for those whom I respect, however I do respect your "love" for those you basically detest. That's peachy.

I hope that they make it to heaven, and trust by the time we get there whatever flaws in me and in them make the present situation awkward will be ironed out.

In the mean time, I’m happy to at least include them in the Our Father (if I say for give us, with the exception of XYZ our trespasses I’m in trouble) and maybe do a little more than that if prompted by grace. I hope that others do the same.

That said, it is undoubtedly easier to work with people one finds likable, though that doesn’t always remain the same. I have some experience. Going through the Big D.
