I live in New England. My mom was descended from some Mayflower folks on one side, and the RI Brown clan on the other.

I found that crap to be insufferable.

But, I smile at your post because all of my mom’s family had done their genealogy as they go along. They are real quick to tell you where they “descended” from. Of course, none of them have done a damn thing in the subsequent 300 years. It’s probably better not to know this stuff until you’ve made your own way.

While I would be eligible to join the Mayflower Society, SAR, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, etc. I have no interest in hobnobbing with those snooty fools.
