I appreciate your comment, which is entirely true. But. Kurds are Christians. And allies. I think.
I wouldn’t mind being wrong, but please explain.
A few Kurds are Christian, but most are Sunni Muslims.
But. Kurds are Christians.
No, they arent. They are primarily Muslims.
Read a bit:
From Wikipedia:
A majority of Kurds belong to the Shafii school of Sunni Islam, but significant numbers practise Shia Islam and Alevism, while some are adherents of Yarsanism, Yazidism, Zoroastrianism and Christianity.

Also from Wikipedia (Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria):
Some of the criticism against the region has included opposition to conscription, and claims of authoritarianism, Kurdification, ban on critical journalists, the promotion of an anti-capitalist ideology, and influence from the Kurdistan Workers Party (commonly known as PKK).
Most ethnic Kurdish and Arab people in Northern Syria adhere to Sunni Islam...

No, most Kurds are Muslim, although I don't see what difference that makes. And the Kurds in general are allies, particularly the ones from northern Iraq. The actual fighting groups in Syria are hard core Marxist revolutionaries. They are allied with the USA and others against ISIS and other parties, but they aren't necessarily on our side in general.
Having them reach a deal with the Syrian government is a good idea since it should avoid a war between them and the Syrian government. It is also good to expand the Syrian government's area of control and influence.
And as a bonus, Assad and his Russian allies know how to keep the ISIS prisoners from causing any more trouble. The Syrian Army won't have much trouble defeating the rebel forces doing the dirty work for Turkey and Turkey must work out a deal that leads to peace with the Syrian government.
Every Kurd in Syria is worth exactly Zero American lives. We helped them get rid ofISIS, who they were fighting anyways. We arent responsible for the Kurds just because we helped them defeat a common enemy You may want to read up on the Kurds and their religion.

I had a neighbor friend in San Diego 30 years ago... he was Muslim.
A good guy.
I’m pretty confused due to all of the players over in Syria. I found the following article that was helpful to me. I thought that the Kurds had been fighting Syria. But I was wrong. It seems that Syria had it’s hands full fighting ISIS, and the Kurds were also fighting ISIS without Syria’s help. And the Kurds took control of ISIS territory (in Syria).
But now, with the Kurds needing help, they have agreed to help from Syria, and I presume that they will lose their dream of having their own Kurdish territory.
Lots of the Kurds that we helped are not just muslem, but Communists as well. I was reading another article that Hezbellah has sent troops and arms to the Syrian army awhile ago.
It is a mess over there. Our goals at the time were to get rid of ISIS. So we offered help to the Kurds that were doing that. Reminds of when we helped Osama bin laden’s crowd against the Russians.
A small number of Kurds are Christians some are pagan but vast majority are Muslim. Be even then most of the Kurds in Syria are secular and communist. The whole thing is a big mess and US troops dont need to be there.
The most widely practiced Kurdish religion is Islam.
