A person can “self-identify” as an oak tree but the Universe, its laws, other life forms within proximity of that person will categorize and respond as what is actual and real exterior to the mind.

I was at my Mustang club meeting. I had driven my 1948 Plymouth. If you drive a Mustang and buy a 50/50 ticket, you get an extra ticket free. I bought a ticket, then demanded my extra ticket.
Him. “Did you drive a Mustang?”
Me. “I drove a car that self-identifies as a Mustang.”
Him. “That doesn’t count.”
Me. “Racist!”
Everyone laughed, because that whole self-identity business is just that dumb. (Now, I should sue for my extra ticket.)
The one thing you cannot self-identify as is an American constitutionalist. That’s doubling down on hate speech.
