I’ve been in the pork business ever since graduated from college (some 40 years. Even worked for Smithfield for a short period of time, and I say don’t you believe it.
Market manipulation is all part of the game and that’s exactly what they’re doing here. Granted ASF is killing hogs but it’s always something ie. HBS, Parvovirus, Coccidiosis, pernicious dysentery etc etc,....It’s always something.
Finally the pork producers and related industries get a break here in the US.
I believe Smithfield was bought by the Chinese.
Higher prices for our hog farmers.......bigger share of the market too.
At least peoples’ health will improve , imho. If not their disposition.
