I’ve heard that legally speaking, this is a needed step. Among other things, it would allow for the Republicans in Congress to have subpoena power, and allow them to be involved . As of right now, without this formality, only Democrats are allowed subpoena powers, and they have conducted proceedings in secret, because it’s not actually a legally authorized proceeding yet.
If Nancy has the votes, bring it on.
Just having the vote, doesn’t mean that the democrats are going to give Republicans and Trump due process rights.
They need to do both. Have the vote, and agree to fair rules.
