Should all be conducted in public, covered live by the media and the president’s party and lawyers should be allowed to cross examine witnesses and present evidence and witnesses.

But the whole shebang should be voted on by the full house first. The constitution does not empower the Speaker to initiate impeachment processes and set the rules on her own accord without a vote of the full House.

The House of Representatives “shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.” That’s the House of Representatives not the Speaker. And the rules are set by the House, not the Speaker on her own partisan whims.

And the entire proceeding must be conducted in full view of the free press and people, otherwise it’s nothing but a partisan kangaroo court, designed to overthrow a duly elected president.

This is America where even the president has the right to due process and to confront his accusers.

The so-called whistle blower act does NOT override the constitution.
