At least I'll be able to decide whether or not I want to buy the product, say, brussel sprouts. With subsidies, you have no choice. You pay for it whether the sprouts ends up in your shopping cart or not.

Except soybeans and byproducts are used in so many things, like corn, that when their price goes up, it’s effectively unavoidable that we’ll all pay.
