It would appear that someone in the Democratic Party gave her a strong hint that she’d removed if she didn’t voluntarily leave, and the public mess would not be pleasant.
On criminal intent...it’s a waste of good jail space for her, but you need to have some kind of stiff situation to prevent this from continuing. Maybe they ought to have a interstate-pick-up-trash team and you do like 100 days of service for your crime.
Criminal intent might be easy to prove when you have a campaign committee collecting and disbursing money legitimately while you have a separate PayPal account accepting contributions that you haven’t reported at all. I’m guessing that the amount in the charging document is only a fraction of what she spent on other than campaign expenses. I wonder what she spent that money on?
