I recall in grade school we sang a hymn to St. Frances Xavier Cabrini and the words included “O Mother Cabrini”.
My Mom greatly admired her and the kitchen calendar always featured St. Cabrini. She was canonized in 1946 which at the time was considered a rapid process following her death in 1917.
I have always had devotion to her. I have a first class relic of her, blessed in Rome on her canonization day. She has interceded for my family for generations.
She has been my patron saint since I was a child, she passed on my birthday Dec. 22. Her feast day was later moved to November. What she accomplished in her life is an inspiration.
