That fits with what I was saying. Calling gender a “construct” (meaning: all in the mind) is just a non-judgmental way of calling it a subset of fetishes (also, all in the mind). I prefer to stick to gender = construct; sex = biology; because it's backed up by the dictionaries. I.e., it's actually the correct word usage; while conflating the two is wrong at best, and often devious (intended to muddle things. Substituting fetishes for gender is more likely to provoke arguments than it is to convince — so, the word usage depends on your audience. If they can't be convinced, you might as well get your digs in.

It is my intention to provoke an attempt to deny that gender is just a set of fetishes. I point it out calmly and rationally.
I never lose that argument, and if they become angry and begin lashing out then any bystanders to the conversation sees them as angry and unreasonable.
It elicits the response socialists hope to benefit from when they send provocateurs to peaceful gatherings of patriots and attempt to evoke a violent response to what they do.
