Is it true that Masons hold in equal esteem the Bible, the Koran, and the Bhagavad-Gita, among other holy books?
You’re asking the wrong person on that. The older members of my family are members, but I am not, as of yet. (been too busy with other things)
“Is it true that Masons hold in equal esteem the Bible, the Koran, and the Bhagavad-Gita, among other holy books?”
No, not really. The Masons take no position on various holy books. Holding them as equal would be taking a position. What they do is recognize the fact that you may be sitting in lodge with others who revere a different holy book, and request that you respect that fact. In my lodge, we have a small Torah we place next to the Bible when one of our Jewish members is present. If there was a person of another faith there, we could put their holy book out too.
