Actually, once he said that, every person participating was required by LGBTQ law to call her by those pronouns. She wasn’t supposed to be shamed into apologizing, pronouns are owned by hte person, and if she said she went by female pronouns, it was the duty of the participants to start using female pronouns.
Later one of the moderators mis-pronounced a name written on a card for one of the questioners, and was told that was violence against her, known as “mis-naming”.
And I wish ONE candidate had the gall to speak up and say “I’m sorry, but people making an honest mistake trying to figure out how to pronounce a name on a card is not “mis-naming”, and you are doing violence to your movement, and to this fine moderator, by pretending she meant violence toward you for a normal everyday mistake.”
