An Oklahoma sheriffs department defied ICE and released an accused rapist from jail this week and within hours he was back at the door of his alleged victim, the agency said Thursday, saying the countys sanctuary policy put the woman at risk.
Antonio Ulises Perez was charged with first-degree rape on Sept. 30, and made bond early Wednesday morning. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had asked that he be transferred to the custody of deportation officers, but the sheriffs department refused, and released him instead.
Within a few hours of being released, this illegal alien was back at the home of the rape victim where he was free to re-victimize her and harm other members of the community, said Marc Moore, director of ICEs Dallas field office.
He said deportation officers were able to track Mr. Perez down and he is now in custody awaiting deportation proceedings.
The county sheriffs department did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the incident.

Did he make bond or not? Why would he need to make bond if the charges were dropped?
Within a few hours of being released, this illegal alien was back at the home of the rape victim where he was free to re-victimize her and harm other members of the community, said Marc Moore, director of ICE's Dallas field office.
Was he apprehended at the victim's house after being released or not?
He said deportation officers were able to track Mr. Perez down and he is now in custody awaiting deportation proceedings.
Is he in custody awaiting deportation proceeding?
The county sheriffs department did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the incident.
Why not simply respond with the truth as you have told it? Why not just say the charges were dropped and we couldn't hold him indefinitely, so we gave ICE a 2 hr window to come get him and they never did?
You may be absolutely right that this is drummed-up hype, but to what or whose purpose? Looks to me like finger-pointing back and forth after a screw-up on both sides.
I missed the part where Bush Republicans believed in deporting illegal aliens.
They were government employees.
I was having a nice conversation with you. Where the hell are you coming from?
A point to you is THLAT WE ARE NOT QUITE AT WAR YET. THERE IS A TIME AND PLACE FOR IT.
You take your war tactics but I will stick with Trump, we are not there yet. We are still winning people over to our side with the TRUTH.
Per my conversation with the Sheriff the suspect was released without charges pending. So he didnt make bond.
So from that we can conclude that he wasnt a rapist, he was no longer a rape suspect.
The Sheriff still notified ICE that he was being released. They didnt refuse to turn him over. Thats a lie.
The ICE people didnt get there before the Sheriff had to let him out the door.
So Oklahoma County is not a sanctuary county.
He was not released on bond, he was released without charges pending.
The Sheriff did not refuse to turn him over to ICE, they contacted ICE and told them of his imminent release.
How many falsehoods do you need before youll admir a story is Fake News?
I think the first word in the headline should have been enough.
Do you even have a clue of the DANGER of adopting their tactics of lying? Can you admit there are some?
The issue being discussed here is lying. You really jumped the shark....................................
The article plainly said that ICE was given an hour and half to get there. At 0300? Oh and that ICE should have someone stationed at the jail all the time to prevent this from happening again. Really????? No, this was the Sheriff Department’s doing and now they are trying to spin it. They chose to let this person go and not do a 48 hour hold.
Whoever decided to release the invader should be held personally responsible.
Oklahoma County is NOT a sanctuary county. NOT.
He had been held since September 30. Thats more than 48 hours. Thats like 10 days. There were no charges pending so they had to release him. BTW ICE has an office at the jail. They were there. They live there.
The county sheriffs department did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the incident.
They would if the Sheriff was ARRESTED for Accessory to Rape after the fact. Obviously the Sheriff LET the RAPIST GO so he could KILL the Only Witness to the crime, Maybe we should up the charges to the Sheriff.
I called the Sheriffs department and they put me right through to the Sheriff. He didnt know who I was and he answered all my questions and concerns. I was just a concerned citizen.
Somehow I think the reporter didnt try very hard to get the Sheriffs position on the claim. Getting the scoop is more important than getting the story.
It is interesting, in a perverse way.
Why is the sheriff required to have *any* charges to be filed by a victim? The man is an illegal alien. Logically, that should be all that is required to hold him. He is a criminal simply by his presence.
Logically is not the Law.
There is no logic in the Law.
Just look at the idiots that make it.
The truth does work. We should always lead with it. There is no need to lie, the truth is far more devastating to the left.
BUT we (meaning our betters in the Republican party) must be bold and relentless in broadcasting it. How many of the spineless (R) cowards do that?
BUT we (meaning our betters in the Republican party)
Seriously, the “we” is not only our republican leaders but us also. It takes time to sort out the truth and we need to engage others in it.
If they don’t want to hear the truth, shake the dust from your feet and move on to those that want to hear the message.
