I converted my 15 KW Generac to propane (actually gasoline or propane) with a kit from an outfit called Motorsnorkel. Works like a dream.
But, when I put my propane tank in I opted to pay $25 per year more for a 500 gallon instead of a 250 gallon tank. A lot of emergency preparedness there.
The spark arrestors are an easy aftermarket add-on. They are just a heavy-duty stainless screen.

Thats where I got ours. Had a plumber install a 1-1/2 inch line to run it off the natural gas that feeds the house. Much much cheaper than running it on gasoline. And we dont have to worry about the local stations not being in service.
Hooked it into a transfer switch at the breaker box and labeled all the circuits so we can pick and choose what to power. ProTran makes those. Slick.

Very smart, that.

Im sure. But how many folks up there in fire country bothered with them? It only takes one idiot, after all. And the world seems to be turning out idiots in job lots these days.
Stay safe.
