To: grundle

All that recycled plastic makes great landscaping timber, and other composite building material. Though more expensive, the material outlasts wood. One of the better uses of recycled material.

Sadly, here in FL it doesn't. It really has a low tolerance to UV. My neighborhood replaced our docks with it a few years ago and it already needs to be replaced.

When I was in Germany awhile back, recycled plastics were heat-formed into large blocks of gray plastic, and installed alongside the Autobahns to reduce traffic noise in neighboring towns. Rubber tires were shredded to make rectangular blocks used as a backstop at a rifle range. You never see tire fragments alongside Autobahns.

Here in New Hampshire, I watched a recycle station employee remove "my" recycled black dinner dish. I asked why, "Why? It's a "7", and you take "7s".

His answer was, "It's black, and turns off the transport belt at the (downstream) recycle station.
