I ran into Senator Moynihan twice during the seventies...in two different neighborhood bars (ball ‘n’ beer joints) in Queens, NY.
Both times he was surrounded by a bevy of young people, predominantly female, some of whom were too young to be served alcohol and were relegated to booths where they received soft drinks.
He certainly seemed to enjoy holding court over these youngsters as he consumed large quantities of adult beverages.
