Make that AIDS Epidemic.
Had an argument with a Liberal Woman who lost some Gay Friends to AIDS.
She was adamant blaming POTUS Reagan and would have no part in any other reasoning such as Gay Promiscuity and the fact that the Gay Community fought tooth and nail to make sure AIDS was not considered a Gay disease, which in fact it was.
I remember years ago that ANY Sexual Disease was reported to the Public Health Authorities who tracked down possible Partners who might be infected. When AIDS appeared on the scene, Liberals framed it as a dangerous way to expose Gays rather than deal with a deadly Public Health issue.
San Francisco failed to shut down the gay bath houses at a time when that might have had a noticeable effect on AIDS transmission. But it was Reagan’s fault.
