I remember 1984, in Eastern Oklahoma. The local bank sign said 116 degrees. Super hot, even the swimming lakes were hot. Of course, the “Official” temp was much less.
In one of those early 1980s years the electric company I worked for had their peak electric sales on Sept 5. That year also was murderously hot.
Its been balls hot in Texas. Typically the high pressure system that sits over Texas in July and August ends in early Sept. This year it moved to the Southeast and stayed there until last week. While it was really hot in Texas and the Southeast, the high pressure system kept two hurricanes from coming on-shore.
Absolutely the same here in SW WI.
My home is sited similar to yours with stone foundation over rock for the original 107-year-old house. Water table up here on our knoll is about 35 feet. Sump is a necessity. At least ours isn’t needed at the moment. It got a workout over the summer.
Great crop of mushrooms in the fields. Mold in the northern closets and ground floor of the old barn.
On the plus side, the electric bill was only $68 actual power consumption. On the negative side, all the green mandates puts fees/facility charges at over $40. Add taxes and our September electric bill from a co-op was $113.
Ya just can’t win for losing.
When were the NOAA records changed to make this historic event happen?
New Law Requires You To Listen To Greta Thunberg Lecture Before Purchasing Gasoline in several states.
A series of new bills working their way through state legislatures in New York, California, Oregon, Hawaii, and several other progressive states will require you to listen to a Greta Thunberg lecture before purchasing gasoline.
Motorists will be required to watch a 20-minute lecture by the 16-year-old climate activist before they purchase gallons and gallons of harmful fossil fuels. continued ....

Not only is it how far back, but also to what probability?
This is a statistical exercise to determine a temperature, and likewise any warming or cooling.
As example: One of the previous “world’s hottest years” was disclosed the week after as being 38% probable by those that made the announcement.
Normal summer in AZ.
Fall is hear!!!!
:-)
In Montana... we are expecting 6-10 inches of snow tomorrow and a high of 18 degrees. F Greta.
TELL me that is a joke! Thing is, I live in the leftist sewerhole of New York and I would not doubt for a second that psychopath Cuomo would mandate that.
First September snowfall in two decades in my part of Montana.
The ONLY thing that matters is when records and data started to be manipulated for a preferred outcome!
according to accuweather.com in July oceanside had right at average highs except for a 4-day spike.
august High 75 mean 69.
