Regarding Albania — I have heard it said that “the religion of Albanians is Albanianism” and that the various religions in Albania actually got along fairly well, at least in the past. My father-in-law was an Orthodox Serb from Herzegovina and he said the same thing about there, at least when he was a young man. I believe there may be some truth that Albanian Muslims protected Jews.

On the other hand, there were the Muslim Skanderbeg SS units that did what SS units usually did, including rounding up Jews.
