I'm still waiting to hear what all the anti-Trump folks think we should do to stop the Turkish government if they decide to attack the Kurds. Should we shoot down their jets? Should we bomb their capital? Should we destroy their armored units with drone strikes? Should we just assassinate their leaders? Or should we just start supplying the Syrian military with advanced weapons so they can destroy the Turkish forces?

And of all of those choices, what do we expect to happen at our bases in Turkey, and how does it work with NATO when we attack a fellow NATO member?

Does anybody really expect that we would get engaged in a shooting war with Turkey?

I haven't seen one logical explanation for what we should do other than get out of the way, and threaten Turkey with non-violent sanctions.

If we stayed in position, even with a nominal force, Turkey couldn’t attack the Kurds because they’d also be attacking a fellow NATO ally. Us.
