With the power out, and cell sites out, and wires down, radio amateur emergency networks may be the only means of communications in or out of these areas. It worked that way in Paradise, CA.

Yup, its true...Cal Fire is removing Amateur antennas from towers they control...Real bright idea somewhere along the line.

So we will just have to take care of ourselves and the state can figure out how many blankets they need in a shelter instead of relying on amateur radio operators...
