Walking around DC and driving through the burbs there all you can think of is “so this is where the money goes”.

You nailed it there. Take a walk around D.C. and you can quite literally feel the money bubbling-up through cracks in the sidewalks at you. I went from L'Enfant Plaza all the way out to Bethesda and did not see a single boarded-up business or closed store. Then you realize that they stole it from all the rest of us and it makes you furious.

All Americans need to visit D.C. at least once to experience this IMHO.

I agree. Thought that too. Really, all we need is one good tv show to bring it home. “Lifestyles of the Rich and Useless”.

It was like being in Oz. All I could think of was, so this is what my ancestors shot their British overlords for? To end up right back where we started from, on our knees to a bunch of decadent, corrupt grifters who spend most of their time trying to think of new ways to put the thumb on us?

Lois Lerner isn’t the exception. She’s the g-damn model for them. They probably have pics of her in their offices.
