There are about 1000 troops in Syria, supporting about 60,000 Kurds and Syrians who have been doing the actual fighting with some help from U.S. artillery and air strikes. We're pulling all our support out and leaving the Kurds and Syrians to fend for themselves, and the Turks will be there soon to mop them up. So who wins out the most in the end is up in the air.
