He may have been, but he lost that battle and military route was chosen, and once it was chosen sadly his advice led to us having to go back again, instead of getting the job done the first time.

1991 Saddam should have been removed, not only this, but US allowing IRAQ to use helicopters after surrender, lead to the gassing of countless curds after the fact.

I honestly am not, at a gut level, happy that it looks like the US may be abandoning the Kurds again in Syria... but I admit I have not followed this conflict closely either, so my gut reaction may not be an honest assessment of the situation.

Just for the record, there are virtually no apolitical general/flag officers in the military. Interestingly enough, the last one I know of was Mike Flynn, a life-long Democrat who dared to criticize Obama - and we know what happened to him.

Remember the My Lei massacre that occurred in Vietnam. Lt. William Calley was prosecuted for his role. In court Calley testified that he was following orders when he gave the order to his troops to carry out the slaughtering of the My Lei villagers. Lt. Calley’s commanding officer was none other than, then a Captain, Colin Powel. Cpt. Powel was never held to account for his role in My Lei. He has since climbed the political ladder to become a 4 star general and once had aspirations of being the POTUS. He stinks of “deep state”!

Powell never accomplished anything when he worked for Bush.

He just occupied an empty space.

Typical for an affirmative action hire.

Oh goody! That way we could have been in the Iraq mess since 1991 instead of since 2003...

Warmongering “regime changers” need to be destroyed politically. We can’t afford any more of the wars these lunatics want us to fight.

I. . .worked for George W. Bush.

Does conspiring to frame Scooter Libby so you could undermine Bush's foreign policy count as working for him?

Colin supported Hussein Sotelo... he isn’t a very good Republican, maybe he needs to be of service to his country, like Donald Trump and not take any pay. THEN I would believe him, but he knows on which side his bread is buttered.

Mr. Powell was not as much a REPUBLICAN as he was
A MOLE attempting to destabilize America’s cornerstones.

And that’s being kind.

Colon Bowell used fake intel to start terrible wars that he suspected was fake intel.

A real POS.

And that’s why he has to go into some long explanation and say that’s why I “call” myself a Repubic. Instead of just saying I’m a Republican like a normal person would.

The guy who voted for Obama because ROMNEY was too far to the right!

Hey Colin
How was your foreign policy - in the Iraq war which created far more damage than good? Your foreign policy got the Republicans thrown out of government. Obama got elected - whom you voted for.

Colin Powell is in no position to speak of Republican politics after he and the team destroyed it, and then he voted for the Democrats.

All that attention over there, and what about our backyard: Nicaragua, Venezuela, Cuba, Mexico?

Obama's "normalizing relations" with Cuba was a euphemism to let dictatorships be.

We have our own Afghanistan south of the border.

You say the example of the Zimmerman proposal is dated? Who are the big empire states that are presently at work south of the border? China? Russia? Iran?

(Incidentally, W & Laura were sitting with Ellen Degenerate watching the hapless Dallas Cowboys play yesterday.)

Those Culture Warrior Bushes.

The big surprise being that neither the Obamas nor the President of Mexico were there with them.
