” If the Brexiteers were smart, they would next demand a written constitution.”
Absolutely not. I don’t want to live under a constitution written by the jokers in our political class right now. It wouldn’t resemble anything like the US one and would embed a load of progressive lefty crap that could then never be undone by a conservative government.
The US is Britain’s largest single trading partner however, and that is without any trade deals whatsoever. Imagine how much trade would increase WITH a trade deal. Even if it does damage to the UK economy in the short term, it will be worth it. You can’t put a price on sovereignty, which is something the remainiacs cannot seem to grasp. Other countries have paid a far higher price to gain and retain their freedom. Selling out to control by a foreign power for the sake of cheaper foreign imports is a pathetic excuse for not being able to rule your own country.
HOORAY Boris
Excellent. We can cut a free trade deal with the UK in short order.
The way the legislature is trying to bind the executive is outrageous and arguably unconstitutional, although our renegade supreme court of remainers won’t see it that way. Parliament should have no right to trample on the right of the executive to govern, if they have a problem, they could table s no confidence vote as would be the proper way of doing things, but ghey won’t because that would force a GE they would lose.
Sounds bold, but I’ll bet the UK is still in the EU 26 days from now.
The deal is dependent upon the UK living up to its good Friday agreement promise for an open border on the island of Ireland
I don't understand British politics, but it sort of sounds like Parliament has said they don't have confidence in Johnson, but they don't have confidence in the voters, either. Sound just like the US House of Representatives!
