Yup. If memory serves, it was completed 15-20 years ago and no one ever flipped the switch to bring it on line.

1965 - Shoreham nuclear plant pans announced
1973 - Construction started.
1976 - First anti-Shoreham protests.
1979 - Three Mile Island.
1979 - 15,000 protesters at Shoreham, largest demonstration in Long Island history.
1983 - Finding that Long Island could not be evacuated.
1984 - Construction completed.
1985 - Federal permission for 5% low power tests granted.
1986 - Chernobyl.
1989 - Local opposition insurmountable. Agreement to not operate plant. $6 billion to be charged to Long Island residents.
1992 - LIPA bought plant from LILCO.
1994 - Shoreham fully decommissioned.
