When prosecutors seek help from outside the U.S. in obtaining evidence for an investigation, the requests usually go through the Justice Departments Office of International Affairs, or through Federal Bureau of Investigation legal attachés stationed at U.S. embassies around the world whose job is to maintain relationships with foreign counterparts.
Mr. Barr is largely sidestepping that process.
That tells me a few things, most importantly, the FBI is not in the loop and this just reinforces my belief that all of the caterwauling about the Ukraine phone call nonsense is due to the fact that the endgame with the intelligence agencies transgressions is coming near.

Reducing their access to the President and his papers/communications is the small slight they cannot accept.
