Schiff lied, he lied to the House, he lied to the House Committee, he continues to lie, the lie itself is on tape to view a million different ways until dinnertime, as is Biden's CFR denouement.
I think Schiff is tired, that he doesn't have the balls or the wherewithal to see this through, and that his forgery of what Trump said was done out of mutual disgust for Trump AND Pelosi, who ordered him to go out there and catch that javelin.

In fact, that whole 'mafioso' thing they tried early in this farce against Trump was surely the blame Schiff tried to lay on Pelosi!
DC mandarin staffers aren't very bright and they tend to use whatever is in front of them, including recently-concluded conversations they've just had about their freinemies.
