BEIJING (Reuters) - The Houston Rockets' Chinese sponsor and a Chinese sportswear maker have suspended work with the basketball team after its general manager sent a tweet in support of Hong Kong protests over the weekend. Although Rockets general manager Daryl Morey quickly deleted the tweet, sportswear brand Li-Ning and sponsor Shanghai Pudong Development Bank (SPD Bank) Credit Card Center said on Sunday they were suspending cooperation with it. ***** Shortly after the announcement by both businesses, Chinese state broadcaster CCTV's sports channel also said it would suspend any further broadcasts of the Rockets' matches starting Sunday. ***** The post has since been removed and team owner Tilman Fertitta went on Twitter to distance the team from the statement. "Daryl Morey does not speak for the Houston Rockets," he said on Saturday. "Our presence in Tokyo is all about the promotion of the NBA internationally and we are not a political organization." ***** The business' announcements follow one earlier in the day from the Chinese Basketball Association which said it was suspending "exchanges and cooperation" with the Houston Rockets.

The Hollyweird-Sports-Social Media complex loves to posture and lecture flyover Americans pushing political issues like Black Lives Matters and the Trayvon hoax and anti-police and anti-white initiatives.

But when it comes to selling their movies or sports entertainment or Google or Facebook, they'll happily suck up to Chinese tyrants for a buck.

It just shows there is no principle involved. They simply hate flyover Americans and will use any means at hand to strike at us no holds barred.

Coward. You're a multi-billionare, Fritata. Why don't you have one if your restaurants sponsor the team and why don't you have an American business make your sportswear?

I'd like to know what Fertitta's reaction would have been if Morey had tweeted something critical of Trump.

My mom used to work for a plant that made sportswear.

They moved it to Haiti because they were cheap SOBs, and then to Mexico. Now that company no longer exists.

Exactly. Why are the Houston Rockets not buying and promoting American made sportswear? I really can’t see the downside here if Chinese businesses pull away from the Rockets.

The ChiComs should not be allowed to own anything in the USA and vise versa.
