Slow learners. Dems abandoned them just after WW2.

The Democrats abandoned blue collar American workers 20 years ago when the Democrats began making it very profitable to outsource manufacturing jobs to other countries and by making it profitable to import cheap illegal labor to take the jobs “American would not do” at the wages being paid to illegal aliens.

It is high time that blue collar American workers abandon the Democrats.

The 2020 elections are not about DNC vs RNC.

It is the DNC vs D Trump. The RNC is not participating 'cept to sabotage POTUS Trump.

I couldn’t read the whole story, computer froze, but it looks as though the reporter is trying to give the democrat party and the poor, disappointed democrats a BIG HUG.

Considering the fact that always thought Zito was a decent reporter, this article is very disappointing.

Jeez, Tucker, Collins, Zito. I’m going to bed.

The Dims have not supported labor, for years they claimed to. When the unions were so strong in the 70s so many promises were made to the workers. Strikes were frequent which were supposed to mean better retirement. Truth is the money ended up in the pockets of mobsters and crooked politicians.

One family member retired from Teamsters and one from Auto Workers...both were supposed to be greatest jobs out there. Both have had issues with their retirement not being what it was supposed to be and some benefits they were supposed to have they don’t supposedly due to lost paperwork and things like that.

The Dims supported and allowed all of this. It was not the workers they were looking out for.

If the Democrats take the presidency in 2020, they’ll all be laid off and out of work—TEOTWAWKI.

It’s hard to ask Auto Workers to vote for you when you accuse them of killing the planet! But that’s just me....... but then may be not.

Blue collar voters have not just been abandoned by Democrats, Blue Collar Democrats are in the process of being enslaved by Democrat Party

The American middle class, of which blue collar workers are a large percentage of, bears the onerous burden of paying for the Democrat politicians vote buying largess in form of income redistribution ( their income) to its ever growing, entitled welfare dependent underclass and even more entitled education worker and government employee base.

The Blue Collar crowd is so hard pressed many are barely eking out a living and in many cases have a lower standard of living than the “vote for a living “ idle welfare recipient class their tax dollars are paying to support

As of now, it is more like indentured servitude, but that is only because the “ 900 billion one time stimulus” based on borrowed money has never went away, it gets duplicated every year via omnibus continuing resolution

As soon as our ability to borrow unlimited sums of money to float the entitlement spending, the entire entitlement spending system will have to be funded by redistributed income that must be footed mostly by the middle class and it’s blue collar bas

That day is coming and it’s a race for the Democrats to build their welfare dependent underclass demographic into a permanent electoral majority capable of imposing its will and enslaving the blue collar workers to produce for them and to support them before the blue collar workers realize they are being enslaved and bolt the Democrats and align with others to prevent the Democrats from enslaving makers to support the takers that give the Dems a permanent electoral majority

You fit in with Republicans, and you are correct to fear that Democrats have deserted you, because they have, and for quite some time now. Like blacks they figure you will never notice that they are in Wall Street’s back pocket, and no longer in your corner.

There was a study that found white liberals hate poor whites. Their “white privilege” attitude lets them feel superior to poor whites, because these people must somehow be less intelligent, lazy or otherwise unfit to not have succeeded like the rich white.

It also lets the privileged liberal deny that they did anything, what I’ve heard described as “luxury beliefs”. Oh, and intact family, good schools and social connections don’t matter - it is just because I’m white.

And they can be the heroes of the poor oppressed colored people by admitting their privilege and oppressing the poor, stupid whites. Never mind the bigotry of low expectations or the fact they don’t give up money and social power.

The erosion of jobs for working class whites was one reason for the opiate addiction wave of the past 20 years and skyrocketing illegitimacy rate.

“bUt The Unions gOt mE a $4o jOb” ... well except now GM used the bailout money I shared to ship jobs to China and even brazenly drop my medical benefits during a strike, courtesy of Obama...

Same thing with health care for all and student loan forgiveness, the SEIU Obama idiot members will never see the color of that money. Will all go to Cuba , illegals and Iran

The next disillusioned would he students, women, blacks and gays... when they all ot that Carbon slavery reparation green new deal part of the fine print addition to social programs...

“It’s a mistake,” Mikus said. “The Democratic Party policies are very helpful and appealing to working-class people. We should most definitely be delivering that message to them and courting them.”

Really? In what way? All we see is that the Democrat party and politicians are doing everything they can to increase the welfare rolls, which unavoidably increases the tax burden on the working class. Democrats want to reward illegal aliens with incredibly generous welfare handouts and medical care, all paid for by those working class people the Democrats pretend to support.

I suppose it’s diffficult for a regular Joe to feel at home in the party of Mike loves Bob, Ken in Barbie’s clothes and abortion on demand.

My impression is that the Dems are trying to get the blue collar voters' attention off that stuff, plus the open borders lunacy, gun grabbing, anti-mining, anti-oil drilling, anti-gas pipelines etc. by saying they're fighting the greedy drug companies, by doing something or other to cut the cost of prescription drugs.

When your worker bailout deal and black reparations just happen to be a bail in by taxpayers attached to an actual bailout of carbon tax “slave reparations” to red china...

They never see the fine print and attachments to their “benefits”, which mean nothing.
