REPORTING FROM THE BLACK LEADERSHIP SUMMIT
Powerline ^ | October 5, 2019 | BY JOHN HINDERAKER

Candace Owens warmed up the crowd of several hundred African-Americans, predominantly young. She was her usual fiery and fact-filled self. Here, she denounces CNN and other media who lied about last year’s Summit, falsely describing those who participated as “paid puppets.”Press coverage of this year’s Summit was predictably warped, as well. Jake Tapper is perhaps the best of the feeble Washington press corps, but like the others he is loyal to his party. His comment on the Summit was a foolish, snarky tweet to which Candace responded appropriately:

Candace Owens ✔ @RealCandaceO Today I spoke at the White House about Tyshawn Lee, a 9 year old black boy who was shot and killed in senseless gun violence. Below we have Jake Tapper reducing my speech to a joke made at the end, because @CNN doesn’t want black America discussing what is actually hurting us. https://twitter.com/jaketapper/status/1180225618794950656 …

Jake Tapper ✔ @jaketapper Your tax dollars at work!

Do you remember Jake complaining about “your tax dollars at work” when Barack Obama held similar events

Next, of course, came President Trump. He received a thunderous welcome–hundreds of young black Americans chanting “USA! USA! USA!” I don’t think any conservative–I wish I could say any American–could be part of that scene and keep a dry eye. I ineptly fumbled my attempt to video the president’s entrance, but here you can here a small part of the president’s speech and the crowd chanting “Four more years!”

She heads the Turning Point chapter at Texas State University, which the university’s student government voted to ban from the campus. We didn’t talk much about politics, however; mostly about food, learning to cook, and fishing.

If you want to feel better about our country’s future, attending a TPUSA Black Leadership Summit is a good place to start.

President Trump never stops amazing American Citizens of all colors! This POTUS of ours loves his country and its citizens...did anyone see an America Flag on the debate stage of those 3 Democrat debates?

I keep gaining respect for this POTUS of ours; President Trump keeps on forging ahead in spite of Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff, the Squad et al and what they try to do to stop this Constitution loving American.

Here is a movement from this week's The Economist/YouGov poll to keep an eye on. I only looked at two samples, so I don't know if this is an outlier or the start of a trend.

  1. The Black vote
    • Donald Trump gained 5% of the black vote. The Democrat Party Candidate gained 2%.
    • Both the "Won't Vote" and "It Depends" vote dropped by 4%.
  2. The Hispanic vote
    • Donald Trump gained 8% of the Hispanic vote. The Democrat Party Candidate lost 8%.
    • The "It Depends" vote fell by 6%, but the "Won't Vote" vote grew by 5%. This likely means that Democrat-leaning Hispanics moved to Trump, while some undecideds say they will stay home.
  3. The "Other" vote
    • The Democrat Party Candidate lost 7%, but this appears to have moved to the "Don't Vote" column rather than support Donald Trump.

Generic Presidential Vote

43. If the election for president were held today with Donald Trump as the Republican running against a Democratic Party candidate, who would you vote for?

Otober 1, 2019 Black % Hispanic % Other %
The Democratic Party candidate 63 39 36
Donald Trump 16 34 28
It Depends 8 11 18
Won't vote 13 15 18
September 24, 2019 Black % Hispanic % Other %
The Democratic Party candidate 61 47 43
Donald Trump 11 26 29
It Depends 12 17 17
Won't vote 17 10 11

Trump got 8% of the black vote and 28% of the Hispanic in 2016.

If the numbers in the Yougov poll are anywhere close to being accurate, we’re talking landslide.
