Only pres may fire. 50 USC 3033(c)(4)

(4) The Inspector General may be removed from office only by the President. The President shall communicate in writing to the congressional intelligence committees the reasons for the removal not later than 30 days prior to the effective date of such removal. Nothing in this paragraph shall be construed to prohibit a personnel action otherwise authorized by law, other than transfer or removal.

He'll be fired. He's on par with Strzok, Comey, and the rest of the plotters.

I’m sure it would be like the Comey firing, with Maguire drafting a letter laying out the case for his firing and Trump dropping the hammer. Or, he might be given the opportunity to resign. Either way, Trump will need some cover. Of course, also like the Comey firing, this will be another case of “obstruction of justice” that the Dems will want to impeach him over.
