Former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko has dismissed allegations from President Trump that he had been pressured by former Vice President Joe Biden to close an investigation into Burisma Holdings, a natural gas company that Hunter Biden sat on the board of.
The former vice president, at least in personal conversations, didnt raise any requests to open or close any concrete cases, Poroshenko told Bloomberg on Wednesday.
Poroshenko said that Victor Shokin, the prosecutor looking into the case, resigned after massive campaigns by politicians and the media, and that went through with the move to restore public confidence and trust in the prosecutor generals office and to move the country forward.
Biden has publicly admitted that he wanted the prosecutor fired, but claims it was over allegations of insufficient efforts in fighting corruption.
We definitely do not want to be involved in the political process inside the United States, Poroshenko told reporters. we never, with any American official, speak about any commercial company.
Impeachment has gained momentum on Capitol Hill following the release of a transcript of a July phone call between President Trump and newly elected Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, in which Trump mentioned Biden in the midst of a discussion about corruption.
According to The New York Times, Poroshenko, in an attempt to garner support during an election year, moved ahead with investigations into connections between Burisma and the Bidens earlier this year at the request of Trump and personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani.
“HOW DARE YOU!” in your best greta voice. LOL!
So the prosecutor fired himself?
Of course what Poroshenko stipulates may be correct and Biden still wasn't lying. The company involved was an energy company, NOT a concrete company! :)
On a more serious note, Biden said he asked for the prosecutor to be fired. Biden may not have mentioned the closing of any particular case, which is what Poroshenko is stipulating. Poroshenko is probably engaging in weasel words.
Biden makes it sound like they fired Shokin on the spot. Shokin didn’t resign until about six months later. ( I think, it’s difficult to pin down the dates, since no one is reporting the facts.) It wouldn’t be the first time Joe Biden “embellished” the facts.
But if Biden did nothing wrong, then why not investigate. Trump never asked that Ukraine make something up. So, if Biden were cleared, wouldn’t that be good for Biden? Some reporter should ask, why is Biden trying to impede an investigation? ( Of course, the MSM won’t ask that.)
We should note that the Ukraine voters unelected Poroshenko for his corruption. Also, Ukraine is a very poor country, and the people would be better off distributing all this money, rather than using it for bribes.
RE: So the prosecutor fired himself?
According to this article (QUOTE):
“Victor Shokin, the prosecutor looking into the case, resigned after massive campaigns by politicians and the media, and that went through with the move to restore public confidence and trust in the prosecutor generals office and to move the country forward.
BIDEN’s excuse on the other hand was to turn the isse around to make himself look virtuous: “He wanted the prosecutor fired, but claims it was over allegations of insufficient efforts in fighting corruption.” ( if you can believe Biden ).
So, Biden was indignant bc the prosecutor didn’t move against his son and he got him fired? How noble of him.
china concrete scandal “cementazo”(costa rica)
....In 2017, audio recordings of a conversation between building developer Juan Carlos Bolaños and Guillermo Quesada, a Central Bank deputy, lifted the curtain on an apparent corruption scheme involving business interests and public officials from every branch of government.
At the core of the scandal was Bolaños effort to import cement from China to undercut Cemex and Holcim, two multinationals with a hold on the Costa Rican market. Officials allegedly changed import rules in Bolaños favor to enable the deal, and public banks gave him more than $30 million in questionable loans for the purchase.....

Biden’s admitted act of demanding that the original prosecutor Shokin be fired when he reportedly knew well before that his son was being interrogated as a member of the Burisma board is all anyone needs to know. If this timeline is true based on the affidavits that have been already filed under oath with the Ukrainian courts Biden is guilty of bribery regardless of what the former President says at this point. Its Biden that demanded and was granted Shokin’s firing in exchange for the billion dollars. End of story.
Biden is covered because there were other plausible reasons to fire Shokin. Many countries dealing with Ukraine wanted him fired.
It’s fine to make political hay of this, but it will never make it to a legal case. I’m sure Biden didn’t mention his son in any conversations, he’s not that stupid.
Exactly.
So Biden will have to admit that he was lying again??? That would be a tough thing to do but he’s a standup guy so no doubt he’ll come through - BARF!

Sorry - had to get to the kitchen....

This is more effort to muddy the waters. The "massive campaigns" were coordinated by the Obama Regime to destroy Shokin so they can make way for their continued plans to exploit Ukraine's natural gas industry led by Hunter Biden.
#QuidProJoe admits it himself! I guess this prosecutor doesn’t know that.
