In 2010, Kevin McAleenan was appointed to a senior executive job at Customs and Border Protection by Barack Obama.

Obama promoted McAleenan to the number two job at CPB in 2014.

Trump liked McAleenan so much Trump temporarily promoted him to the top job at Customs and Border Protection in January 2017.

In March 2018, the Senate confirmed McAleenan as Commissioner of CBP.

Almost 30 Democrat Senators voted for McAleenan.
