I am the VP of a charity in southern California that deals with helping vets suffering from PTSD. Though I am a rock-ribbed, broken-glass, Republican (or, more accurately, conservative), I can tell you that we gladly welcome vets who have any political opinion, and we gladly and gratefully accept donations of money or goods from people of any political persuasion. All of their money is green, and if someone is doing the right thing, then nothing else matters.

This Chief is a Class A asshole, and a moron to boot.

Thank you for all you do for our vets, and indeed, there’s a time to play politics, and there’s a time to stand together with our heroes.

And a little note to remind myself to look up his political donations and see if the Thousand Oaks police chief made a contribution to Jackie Irwin’s campaign - think that’d be an interesting connection to explore.
