A second front in the internal war at Fox News that is pitting news and opinion personalities against one another broke out into the open on Sunday. Unlike the first on air skirmish last week, in which Tucker Carlson and Shepard Smith went at it – each attacking the other on his own show – this time the conflict pitted two Fox News personnel against each other in a hostile exchange live on the same program.
The venue was Sunday’s early morning weekend edition of its Fox & Friends program. Mark Levin, the conservative author, attorney, and radio talk show host whose own program Life, Liberty & Levin airs Sunday evenings on Fox News, appeared live from his Levin TV studio to comment on the Democrats’ rush to impeach President Trump. Soon after the interview started, Levin got into it with one of the show’s three co-hosts in New York, Ed Henry, who used to work at CNN. Henry recently returned to work at FNC after taking several months of medical leave after donating part of his liver to his critically ill sister who needed an organ transplant.
The 13-minute segment began on an upbeat note with program co-host Pete Hegseth introducing Levin as “the great one” – a nickname given to Levin by Sean Hannity. Levin then took five minutes to lay out his case criticizing the Democrats’ efforts to impeach the president based on the infamous July 25 phone conversation between Trump and Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky.
It was then Ed Henry’s turn to ask Levin a question. Henry, it should be noted, is considered a Fox News news, as opposed to Fox opinion, person. His challenge to Levin, repeated twice, appeared to provoke Levin. Henry:

...CANDIDACY does not equal IMMUNITY....

Not in a Western democracy where anyone can become a candidate.
CPL was a candidate, for one extreme example. On our side, Sara Palin was a candidate, too.
Just because someone (even Trump) can claim to be a target due to political positioning (and he would be correct), here Trump is: elected and campaigning for a 2nd term and barraged with accusations, threats and invective.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised to discover that the string-pullers desire the USA become a parliamentary system. It’s more chaotic and gives more power to marginalized positions, which allows even more corruption to spread through the elites.
“Thats why Mark Levin was number 2 under Ed Meese as Attorney General, in the Reagan Administration!”
Did Mark give himself a promotion? The Deputy AG is the #2.
Deputy Attorneys General during the Reagan Administration:
Edward Schmultz ...1981-84
Carol Dinkins......... 1984-85
Lowell Jensen.. ......1985-86
Arnold Burns.. .......1986-88
Harold Christensen 1988-89
Fox News leftward drift began when Murdoch turned it over to his sons. Maybe due to their wives.
chief of staff to Attorney General Edwin Meese
My mistake, Mark was Eds Chief Of Staff.
My mistake. Not Marks and I do know better! Im having back surgery tomorrow & on meds!
As a journalist (don’t hate me!), I have to say Ed Henry always struck me as fair. He’s also not usually in the spot of on-air talk shows, but an investigator and sometimes news anchor. That said, not having a copy of the transcript to use as the basis for a leading question is at best lazy reportage - and it may well be the unveiling of his true political colors.
It also might be indicative of Fox management’s newfound desire to be “centrist” and therefore exert pressure on-air news talent. Levin laid him out with decisive blow
Thanks, but not clicking that! lol
Henry screwed up professionally. He SHOULD have had the full text of the conversation between Trump and the president of Ukraine in front of him, not try to recall details from memory.
Secondly, as Levin pointed out, the President did not ask Zelensky? to “dig up dirt” on the Bidens. It is very clear that this was not what Trump said per the transcript.
Thirdly, Levin smartly and tactfully refused to accept Henry’s “premise” as a “truth”, instead laying out another premise or supposition as to what the president said and did.
I’m surprised that Ed Henry was so amateurish and he got his assed wiped with sandpaper by one of the best pros around.
Lesson Learned, Henry - “Be Prepared to debate with facts, or be prepared to get your ass wiped again with a flamethrower”.
[In 50 years of public debating including on TV, at college campuses, etc., I always carried a “fact/documents” binder with me so when a question I knew was coming my way, I was prepared for it. I owed my audience the best information and documentation that I could get. My opponents weren’t prepared (including psycho-crazy Marxist, anti-Semite Mark Lane “Rush to Judgment” and the even more fake “Conversations With Americans” which even anti-VN war reporter Neil Sheehan skewed as pure crap.
Be prepared or be skewed. I’ll take the former for $1,000, Alex.
