When mankind unified to build the Tower of Babel, wasn’t it God who confounded their plans by altering their languages and scattering them across the world? Who is this pope who oppose God’s plan?

That's a strange line to take, since the European peoples and especially the English scattered themselves across the globe, establishing English-speaking colonies and cultures on all the inhabited continents ("The sun never sets on the British Empire") such that, even today, English the world's "most influential language," due to the number of primary speakers (almost 400 million) and the number of countries in which it is spoken.

There are more people who speak Chinese and Spanish, in their respective countries, but English is the #1 "second language" all over the globe.

So much for Babel.
