The headstone for one of my direct ancestors from the Revolutionary War era lies near the entrance of the large town graveyard in Mt. Pleasant. This is just one area in our county which narrowly went for Walter Mondale in the Reagan landslide re-election of 1984, the year we were married. In 2016, Westmoreland County provided 128% of the vote margin which Donald Trump needed to flip Pennsylvania and cross the 270 electoral vote finish line.
