When Veruca Salt threw a hissy fit, she at least jazzed it up with a catchy song.
No such luck with Greta Thunberg, the teenage Swedish climate activist and sometimes student. Greta is all frowns, all crossed arms, and she’s not here to play. Having sailed by an emissions-free yacht to New York, she delivered her now-infamous sermon for the repentant Luddites at the UN Climate Action Summit (available here). “How dare you?” she thundered repeatedly, while meandering through a sloppy mess of pseudo-statistics meant convince us that she is as capable of a quick Google search as the rest of us.

I was thinking she was one of the creepy kids from “Children of the Corn,” but yes the “Willie Wonka” parallel is quite apt.

I am genuinely curious as to how this Greta charade went over with the true-believing climate change disciples. Do they think this spectacle helped promote their point of view?
To me it was horrifying - an obviously mentally ill and “special needs” kid being paraded around like some sort of prize poodle. What the hell does a 16 year old girl who is clearly on the autism spectrum know about climate science or policy? Her parents could just as easily have gotten her worked up about Voldemart versus Harry Potter or Hannah Montana’s fashion choices.
Her death stare makes me believe that later in life when she has PMS, some guy is getting Bobbitted or authorities will find scores of homeless people’s bodies under her house.
Climate change is just another hoax/con job by the parasitical power structure to control the gullible naive masses to altruistically sacrifice their individual happiness for the so called "higher good" (which turns out to be making the parasitical, criminal minded ruling class wealthier and more powerful).
Also the rational way to deal with climate change, if it does exist, is a pro business and pro capitalist environment, which will lead to more wealth and more technological advances that can actually solve problems.
Climate change is peddled by Watermelons- Green on the outside, red on the inside (except for those wimpy watermelons, green on the outside, yellow on the inside).

Climate change (man caused) is just another vehicle employed by the left to create enthusiasm for their agenda, like civil rights, gay rights, income equality. etc. The objective is consistently the same; absolute power.
Wow, the video really shows that without a script she’s voiceless. Its sad to see a child programmed and manipulated like this. It isn’t going to end well for her.

The Left is good at whipping up mass hysteria, instigating fear, and exploiting people’s naivete and insecurity. They twist it all into movements that generate votes and support fund raising for their politicians.
Funny how all their “solutions” are centered around expanding government and spending more money, which all just happens to benefit them.
I was thinking of Greta Thunburg as Veruca Salt last week, to the point where I looked up the poem from the book.
I was looking for this part especially:

She’s learned her role well. It’s going to be hilarious when she uses it on her mommy dearest. However, it seems this Damien child already has. She bullied her mother to quit her singing career and forced the family to become vegan. She then quit school and though her father didn’t approve, he let her get away with it.

What’s with her parents? They’re not touring with her, right? Why? Bet they sent her away to bring some peace back into the house... and eating meat without her dictating their every move and bite.
