Will any Republicans in the Senate agree with the reasoning, that a president subject to impeachment can’t nominate a Supreme Court Justice?

The business of Congress and the presidency go on, even if there is an impeachment effort or actual impeachment.

And now that there is no filibuster for Supreme Court nominees any longer, the Democrats cannot block a confirmation if a Supreme Court vacancy occurs.

They can bitch about it and infest CNN and MSNBC with their bleatings, but won’t be able to stop it , if Republicans hold together.

Yes, you can bet on Rommney and his bloc of about 3-5 senators signing onto such a position.
