The United Kingdom, France and Germany released a statement overnight backing the United States' assessment Iran is behind the recent and economically devastating attack on Saudi Arabia.
"We, the leaders of France, Germany and the United Kingdom, recall our shared common security interests, in particular upholding the global non-proliferation regime and preserving stability in the Middle East. We condemn in the strongest terms the attacks on oil facilities on Saudi territory on September 14th, 2019 in Abqaiq and Khurais, and reaffirm in this context our full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its population," a joint statement released by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson states. "It is clear to us that Iran bears responsibility for this attack. There is no other plausible explanation. We support ongoing investigations to establish further details."
Last week Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made an emergency trip to Saudi Arabia where the evidence on the ground, in addition to intelligence, proves Iran launched the attack.
On Iran: Pompeo called the attacks on Saudi Arabia an act of war "We were blessed there were no Americans killed in this attack, but anytime you have an act of war of this nature, theres always a risk that could happen. He told this to reporters on his flight to Jeddah.
In the meantime, the Iranaians are accusing European countries backing the US assessment of caving to "bullying."
President Trump warned Iran during a speech at the United Nations General Assembly Tuesday morning that until this kind of behavior stops, the regime will see tightened sanctions.
Yes and they will fight to the last American.
Oh yeah, I remember this story from last week. Wow, how time flies.
Yep, they’re cheerleaders.
Someone certainly will benefit from another war. But I don't see how it will be me, or anyone I know.
Sanctions are the way forward.
Are is not necessary at this point. Iran is melting.
If they strike effectively again, perhaps they’ll get what they so fervently hope for.
But for now, we can wait.
Nice to know, European “allies,” but you can protect your own energy supplies.
Hard to know how a war will turn out.
Our present strategy seems to be heading in the right direction.
They are finally willing to come out and say it.
It was obvious from the moment of the attack.
“Yes and they will fight to the last American.”
Good one!
Exactly.
Yawn.
And the Saudis can fight their own damned war.
Just like we kept Khaddafy, Saddam or Assad from getting one.
But this time, we mean it!
Agreed, Iran is hurting and it's about to get worse for them.
If the United Kingdom, France and Germany really believe that B.S., then let them send their own military to wage war against Iran for Saudi Arabia.
We will sit back and watch.
Let Saudi Arabia defend itself.
Fine, but what do they intend to do about it? If the EU won’t even support the economic sanctions they certainly aren’t going to support any military activity the U.S. might undertake. I’m not asking them to start throwing missiles around but I am asking them to put up or shut up.
Bump!
After 9/11 Gaddafi came clean, had a change of heart and freely offered to work with America to open up their arsenals to inspection. Then with our help he was raped with a knife on television.
No one, including Iran has any interest in “working” it out with us.
This is actually about the Saudi Arabia’s investment in the Oil Company that got hit.
The Oil company that “got hit” has been trying to get an IPO over the last 2 years. The Saudi royalty is now heavily invested in it and it looks the IPO will happen very soon.
This IPO will happen right when it gets hit to sky rocket prices and the IPO. That way Saudi is estimated to around 2 Trillion on the IPO.
That is what really happened here. Follow the money.
The cat is out of the bag.
