The democRATS want to dump Biden as the front-runner for the nomination.
Trump is the perfect foil for them to accomplish this without having to tell Biden that he's out. He'll involuntarily fall on his own sword over this.
Trump will be blamed for some made-up impeachable offense for talking with the Ukraine leader about investigating Biden and they will attempt to kill two birds with one stone.
Trump will be impeached and Biden will be out of the race. In their wet dreams.
Instead, this phony baloney whistleblower deal will blow up in their face, Biden will still be thrown overboard and Trump will come out smelling like a rose.

Yep, that is precisely what is going on, and, of course, their whacky scheme is foiled by the Road Runner, and they will have a new whacky scheme as soon as this one bogs down for them, probably by Monday morning.
However, once they move on to the new whacky scheme for X amount of time, they will return to this scheme and try to revive it.
Any lie or false scenario they establish will not be abandoned, it will just be returned to in the future when they think no one remembers it, wouldn’t even surprise me if they try to pass it off as a new scandal at such time.
Schiff has the perfect face for a clown.
They pick one from the playbook, leak a fake story about it and run with it. Of course, their media will assist by doing the heavy lifting for them.
