That is what the left wants you to believe....you need to give up your rights to fight the lawlessness that the left allowed to happen.
The left is in cooperation with the gangs in our country. We have seen it many times.
Giuliani proved in NYC that you can enforce basic laws and clean up the streets.
We do not need to give anything up and still protect rights.
We reached a point of diminishing returns shortly after.
Also, we did not anticipate blacks, as a demographic, would support guilty blacks (cf the OJ Simpson trial) regardless. (Also, Trayvon Martin; Mikie Brown, et al).
Our changes in the criminal justice system were a big mistake.
The whole "better 100 guilty go free than 1 innocent go to prison" made sure that 1 innocent person went free, but in exchange, now we've got the "100 guilty" out there murdering and maiming and robbing 1000 innocents.
We were better off under the old system.
