Mrs. L and I have a rule of thing for international travel. Only go places settled by the British or the Dutch. Avoid anywhere settled by the French or the Spanish.
Africa is completely out. No country has been able to civilize a square foot of it.
There are exceptions, of course. But this has served us well.

I used to like North Africa before Obama turned it into cesspool. Haven’t been back since 2010. Everything below Sahara was always hell on Earth.
